Dea barely made it through the door of Michael's apartment. She lay his body on the bed just as her magic ran out. She collapsed next to him, worn out from the strain on her body and mind.

"I'm sorry... I'm such a burden..." he said barely lifting his head. "Why do you care so much for me, again?"

"How could I not care...?" Dea asked softly. She rolled over and brushed the hair from his face. "You are my friend and I am your goddess..." She took deep breaths, trying to regain her energy.

"Thank you. I'd kiss you but... I might make you ill too..." He took a breath.

"What do you mean by MY goddess?"

"I'm the main goddess of Japan," she said. She managed to sit up and then stand. Her head spun, but she walked to the kitchen anyway. She got some water and brought it back to him. "Do you have any medicine?"

"Um... no?" he held his hand out for the water. "I don't know what hit me either..."

"Do you feel better now?" she asked worriedly.

"Not entirely... get the thermometer out of the cabinet above the sink... please..." he said weakly.

Dea got it and came back. She took his temperature and got 103.4 degrees.

"Shit... doesn't that mean I'm close to death?!" he said scared. "Call an ambulance?"

"Fahrenheit," she said gently. "You're just very sick. Calm down." She put a hand over his forehead, the need to heal him overpowering her. She let part of her life force flow into him, healing him instantly. Her eyelids fluttered close and she fell into unconsciousness.

Suddenly feeling better and seeing her falling, he caught her. He didn't know what she had done but he hugged her and kissed her forhead.

"Thank you, Dea... I love you..." he whispered.

She didn't hear him. When she fell, she'd gone back to her true form. She would be asleep for at least three days at this rate...As a young goddess, she had pushed herself to hard. All for one human.

Michael picked her up and layed her in his bed. He decided he should sleep too. He crawled in with her and curled up to her. He probably owed her his life.

He woke up late the next morning, at about noon. She was still sleeping soundly. He went out to run a few errands. When he got back at about 7 that evening... he noticed she hadn't moved and he began to panic...

He checked for a pulse... it was normal... He wondered if he should call for help...

Dea was glowing faintly as she recharged. Her soul was in Heaven as her body rested. She was being chastised by her angels for using so much of her magic.
