He rolled his eyes. "They're all color coded. Which is why I need a black one again!!!!"

Aveira pulled a sharpie out of her belt and scribbled over the pink notebook. "There you go."

Risus growled at her. "Fine. Just give me the money to go buy a generic notebook."

"I don't have any," she said simply. "Why pay for what I can have for free?"

"The normal people of the world use this stuff called money," he explained. Then he sighed. "I'll have to make another one."

"I never claimed to be normal. And money is dumb. I take what I want."

Risus buried his head in his arms and waved her off. "Of course," he said in a muffled voice.

"Sleepy?" she asked.

"No. Just...distracted." He glanced at her. "But I guess you would already know that. Some sort of mind reading powers..."

Ahe shook her head. "Why do you say that?"

"It was a joke. A bad one, maybe," he mumbled.

She tilted her head to the side in confusion. "I can't read minds," she said seriously. "But I can do other things. Better things. More useful things."

Risus glanced around. "Well, I came to this place looking for a very specific notebook. A black one, it so happens. But, obviously, it isn't here." He sighed. "I was hoping maybe you could help me."

Again, she offered the once-pink one.

He shook his head. "More specific. And powerful. I don't know it's official name. But it can control people. I just need to know a name and a face."
