Rhythm caught her breath, tired from running. The journey was wearying, and she knew that if she ran for much longer she may collapse. But she had to keep on running. Her breath was coming in gasps: her work didn't usually require her to be active, and she was rather unused to having to run.
Her eyes glowed a slightly different colour. The emotion in them made it clear that she would carry on until she died. She considered taking her unusually heavy shoes off, but realised that that would be a mistake. They were always useful if she ran into someone that meant her no good.
She remembered the warning as clear as day: parts of it kept coming into her head. He's coming... he wanted last time... she can't keep...
Her head was spinning as she carried on running, alert and aware.

Through the thick forest maikeru was may be a few feet further from the scene of rhythm her activity. He was hunting feeling that this modern age depended to much on the grocery story industry to provide. Despite allergies and massive medical problems he pursued recreations from an era long forgotten in the generational gap. With an old rifle in hand he looked for game but was weary of other human beings currently doing there nature walks and leaf scrapbooks.

Rhythm refused to let herself stop. For once, she was no longer blank and calm. She was angry. And that was, as many knew, no good thing. Her fists clenched, and despite being weary, she carried on, making one foot fall in front of the other, at a speed that was quite fast considering that she generally declined offers of running.

Hearing the brash heavy breath of something or someone maikeru knelt down and pointed the .22 rifle at the path which whoever or whatever was coming would cross. Rhythm came in the path and maikeru's finger neither twitched or decided to stay in his position. Instead like a whack a mole game he popped up and looked straight at her confusingly. "Rhythm?" he called making sure it was her, he felt her calm had utterly left her persona.

Rhythm whirled. "What?" For once, she was quite angry, and so her voice was outside it's usual calm tone. "What do you want?" She knew she was probably being unfair, but she only realised such after she had spoken.

"To see what's wrong." he replied climbing over a log and heading towards her holding his rifle before using the strap and placing it securely on his back with the safety on. Luckily the barrel was long.

"It's nothing, alright? I just need to be left." She kept backing away as he moved towards her.

"Are you sure?" he asked stopping just a few feet from where she was making sure not to startle her. "I mean you don't seem to be yourself."

"Who else would I be?" she asked. "I'm fine. Just don't come near. Please." The last word had a note of a plea in it. "Don't come too near."

"What's the matter?" he asked making sure he didn't move or even flinch in the slightest towards rhythm since she had been kind enough to say please.

"I'm fine. Just please... If you come near, believe me both of us will regret it," Rhythm said.

"What are you talking about?" maikeru seeing and hearing nothing currently around them at the moment.

She leant her head on her hand. "Just don't come near."

"Why?" he asked curiously. "Did I do something wrong?"

"No, it's not you," she said, sounding frustrated. "It's nobody's fault. Well, nobody else's."
