It was a murky day you might say, a fog had passed that morning and everything was wet. However on this depressing day, Zema decided she needed to do some house work- seriously. She was fed up of having the 'haunted' house a block away from the neighborhood. From its outward appearance it down right looked abandoned. And with her rapidly suddenly making friends- they might actually want to come over. It was about mid day and she had been working, pulling weeds and what not etc etc. She sighed wiping her brow and glancing to her partner on the lawn. It was an iguana she had owned for a while now in a small harness. Zema glared at it as if it were laughing at her.
"I don't see you helping." She snapped back. she must've looked mad to anyone cruising the streets or walking their dog, talking to animals. A few kids passed by on their bikes throwing taunts her way. Her eyelid twitched as she pulled her goggles down and began to work again.

Maikeru pulled up in a truck he had borrowed since last night he'd promise to help zema out with her home. He brought some gloves, a rake, lawn mower, a tool box and some packets of different flowers and even a few seeds from fruit trees. He'd found zema's house since he had found kids talking about a 'haunted' house and they happily told him where it was. Maikeru saw zema busy in the yard and honked the horn twice smiling as he got down from the truck.

He wore appropiate clothing to get the job done, some blue jeans, steel toed boots and grey muscle shirt.

Zema groaned frustrated until turning around and actually seeing who it was. When she recognized her friend her face seemed to brighten. "Maikeru!" She said, getting up from her knees and dropped the weed she had just pulled. She approached him, stepping over her overgrown lizard. "What're you doing here? How'd you find my house?" She asked, seeming excited- when really she wanted to die! This was embarrassing, her house being a dump.

"It wasn't to hard to find your house, you said that it looked ot be 'haunted'." he replied using air quotes to empahsis how funny he thought it was. "But I came to help remember last night I promised that I would." he said this all as he unloaded the truck that had been customized. First he took down the lawn mower and then the rake as well as a few trash bags to put everything in. From there hee took down his tool box.

"I see you got started without me." he said looking at the weeds that had been pulled and then to the iguana which he stared whide eyed at in earnest interest to pet it. "Sorry I spaced out, a few delivries will be here to drop off your new caprpet, couch, and bed. We can have this all done by tonight I figure that much."

"Carpet , couch, bed?" Her fears were coming true. He would have to go into the house. She roughly took to two steps to the side, picking up her reptile. "Um, you can get started without me out here- I have to clean my house!" And like that she dashed inside.

"Uh." maikeru was going to say something but she hurried off before he could really utter anything. Shrugging he went ahead starting the work first taking out the weeds and disposing of them properly. From there he cut zema's bushes and hedges which took him about a good half and hour. When he was done with trimming the hedges he started the lawn mower and began cutting the grass.

In total his work took him a hour meaning he'd obviously done yard work before and was experienced in it. A bit tired maikeru removed his gloves and stuffed them in his back pocket looking to see what more he had to do. Looking at the house he admired it since it looked colonial the way it was designed.

Zema ran around her house in a hurry, picking up her clothes and shoving them into her closet, then picking up several books and slamming them into the shelves. She groaned slightly while she cleaned. Was a mess! It was embarrassing. After while everything looked some what decent. Zema grabbed a water bottle and opened the front door to see Maikeru. "Okay, I'm done in there for now." She said coming to him. "I got you a water bottle." She looked around, seeing how much progress he had made. "Wow." She couldn't believe this was her yard. She followed his eyes to her home. It was an old colonial, her mother loved that about it.

"So do you like it?" he asked heading towards the truck and grabbing a shovel which he forgotten he'd taken. Little by little he started digging holes and putting seeds into them which would bloom within a few weeks. "Hope you don't mind but I bought some seeds for apple, orange and grape trees." maikeru planted each seed in the center, around the see he planted flowers that would hopefully bloom if they were tended to appropiately. As he was doing this and talking with zema a sears truck pulled about three of them and since this was a two story house he was sure everything would fit.

"Looks like your furniture arrived." he smiled looking down on watch and utterly shocked how punctual they had been.

"Oh, how did you know what kind of furniture to get?" She said watching them begin to unload from the truck. She watched him. "Fruit trees?" She loved fruit, but wouldn't those take maintenance? She lived alone, so much work she'd have to do. She sighed to herself. But she would be able to do it. Zema knew one day her laziness would have to go. She had a feeling when this was over, she wouldn't recognize her own home.

"Tables, chandiliers, chairs, and few other things." he said being very coy in his description. "You should enjoy them they do have carvings of lizards in them." he said with enthusiasim. "Excuse me now I have to do the back yard now." maikeru grabbed his supplies and headed for her backyard to do the rest of the yard work.

"Oh wait!" She said running after him and cutting him off before getting more then three feet into the backyard. In the backyard was a large pool, but it was dirty like a swamp. two eyes came out of the murky water. Zema laughed nervously. "This is were I keep my two Alligators." She mumbled. Then again, he shouldn't be surprised- she really liked her reptiles.

"I was just going to make a sort of zoo for all your reptiles." he replied pointing at five bags of cement he placed there previously. The alligators were actually chewing on some steak he'd given them for being such good sports.

She gave a friendly , but evil glare his way. "Stop spoiling my animals." Then she continued to walk. If he wanted to get his leg chewed off- he could go ahead. She went back to the front yard, just to see people already loading furniture into her house. "I didn't even let you guys in yet!" She said running into her house to direct the flow of furniture.

Maikeru thought zema was mad at him so he looked at the alligators wondering what he should. "Do you think she's mad at me?" he asked curiously actually petting the both of them without a problem.

Zema slid across the floor, picking up a small lizard before one of the furniture movers stepped on it. She narrowed her eyes at him and petted the lizard softly. The lizard looked at her unamused. "How did you get out?" she whispered to it. She sat there a moment on her knees before getting up and returning it to it's cage. It crawled onto it's heat rock and she smiled, turning back to the movers.
