Kana sat in the park. She was sitting in lotus position and breathing deeply, readying her mind and body. "Okay," she said opening her eyes. "Now what?"

"Picture what you want to be in your mind." She put her finger on her lip, trying to remember the things she practiced to get to where she was today. "But you have to want it. You have to- how to explain- you have to try and make yourself move into that in which you want to be. Like for example." She put out her hand. "If the person I wanted to be, had long fingers." Zema spread her fingers apart. "Focus your power towards it and push your fingers out." She frowned. "Maybe I'm going at this the wrong way. Before turning into something full you have to know every detail." She put her hands on her head. "Ugh I'm not a teacher!" She whined sitting down. "If only we had a mirror." xD

"Hmm..." She thought. She focused all of her attention on her skin color. Slowly, very slowly, it darkened to a navy blue.

"Ah," Zema watched with extreme interest, then laughed, seeing her navy blue. "You did it."

Kana opened her eyes and laughed. "Skin's easy, though. Skin and hair. And nails. Bones are the hardest."

"Of course they are. While learning how to shape shift be prepared for broken bones." She stuck out her tongue. "Take it like a man?" Zema teased again. x3

Kana pouted. "Fine..." She closed her eyes and concentrated on her fingers. They grew to be around twelve inches long and have seven joints each. She opened her eyes and bent her freakish fingers. "OW!!!"

Zema winced as she shouted. "Okay, you tried a little to hard. Trying pulling back on the fingers. It'll hurt but- unless you want huge fingers for a few days."

Kana slowly made her fingers shorter, wincing the entire time. "Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow..." Finally the were back to normal. Well, normal except for the massive bruise already beginning to form.

Zema frowned at the bruise. "It hurts when your just learning. Your body will learn to adapt to the pain." She gently took her hand to look at the arriving bruise. "I'd kiss it to make it better, but I doubt that works." And then she gently let go of it.

"I don't want to practice anymore today," she said. "My hand hurts." She changed her skin color back a little faster this time.

"Yeah I understand." She sighed. "If you think it hurts now, its going to hurt like hell tomorrow. Shape shifting isn't easy I suppose."

"I'm not even a real shifter," she said unhappily. "Oh! I can do this, though." She switched to her normal male form. Then back to female. She continued switching back and forth, her bruise getting smaller each time.

"Does that not exhaust you? Shifting back and forth, back and forth?" She watched the bruise as it started to vanish. "Amazing."

He'd stopped on his male form. "No. As long as I use my base male and female forms, I'm fine. I only get tired when I change things."
