"Actually, I'm perfect at it. Your reaction proved that," she said, face once again blank. "I've found the limit of lies that will work on you, I think. And you are certaintly uch more interesting than most idiots I meet. You aren't afraid of me and you aren't stupid. That's interesting enough for me to not kill you."

Aveira blinked, still not betraying any emotion. "I don't intend to kill you. But for me to have to use such a high level lie to fool you, you are very interesting. Most people would have been fooled at least three levels beneathe that lie," she said, voice bland, yet somehow not monotonous.

"You said that already," she ointed out. "And I'm not looking for someone interesting. I was just bored. Which reminds me..." she turned to the table he had been sitting at and picked up one of the larger books. She cut a few of the stitches from the binding, turning it upside down until the small brass key fell onto the floor. She picked it up and placed it on the table while she took a needle and thread out of one of the hidden pockets in her skirt and started carefully sewing the book's binding together.

She knotted the thread and bit the excess thread off, leaving the book in better condition than before she had ripped the thread off. "My real reason for being here," she answered, pocketing the key. "You may come if you like," she said, walking away. She didn't look back, knowing the temptation was almost to great, what with the hidden key and the misterious 'cute girl' who knew its whereabouts. She turned a few corners, climbed up three staircases and down four, leading her to a basement-like room that was used for storage and lit with an eerie red light. There were pipes and other large metal objects down there and with the less-then-helpful lighting, it was dark and easy to get lost in.

Aveira walked to a dark corner and leaned down next to the wall. Feeling with her hands, she found a tiny crack which she pressed her nails into until it opened, revealing a minute keyhole. She stuck the brass key in and a panel in the floor opened to her left, revealing a ladder that went downwards. She removed the key and started down, pulling a silver key from a small hollowed space that was invisible about half way down the dark tunnel. "Not much farther," she called up, hearing her voice echo strangely.

Reaching the bottom, Aveira waited for Maikeru before pushing a bottn that sealed the panel far above them. She closed her eyes and took Maikeru's arm. "You must not let go. If you do, I may lose you. This is a maze, full of traps and other deadly things. One wrong turn and you can kiss your life goodbye." She stepped forward, counting in her head. 37, 38, 39, 40 equals left turn...70 steps, right turn. 5 steps, left turn twice. 43 steps, step back to avoid the spikes, 3 steps then right turn... her thoughts continued this way for a while as she slowly found her way to the heart of the maze. Finding the door, she opened it and reopened her eyes as the soft blue light illuminated the small room before her. It was completely empty except for a small, round table in the center of the room with a box on it. She walked to the box and inserted the silver key, picking up a heavy gold one that was very ornate. "This room is safe; you can rest for a moment. I suggest closing that door quickly, though," she told Maikeru in her calm voice.

"Why are you worried about me?" she asked, surprised. Not that it showed, of course.

Because I chose to worry. His response was straight to the point with a voice that for the moment was ice cold. Anyway we should continue don't you think?

"Of course." Aveira grabbed onto his hand again and walked out of the room, closing the door quickly. She lead him through various patterns that often had the backtracking to avoid traps. At one point, Aveira stopped completely and flattened against the wall, putting a hand over Maikeru's mouth so he wouln't speak. The sound of something quite large was hear walking past them and Aveira didn't move until it had long since faded into the distance. After what seemed like an eternity, she found a large golden door that seemed to give off a steady glow. She inserted the large key and opened the door. The room beyond was a large library. It seemed surreal, as if it wasn't really there. The walls, furniture, and bookshelves gave off a steady glow of golden light. "Welcome to my library. These are all the books that don't exist," Aveira said simply.
