"Oh, you came to the right place; two people dead here in the past two days. Grapevine says that Kira - the person who has the book - writes a name in the book, and that person dies of a heart attack."

Dominic let the concern he had show; two dead in his home district was a threat, especially given his trade was technically illigal.

"Interesting. That's it? All he does is write the name? First and last name?" He found this very interesting, he really wanted this notebook. "How many do you think there are?"

"I couldn't tell you the specifics of what he has to write, but get this. One of the people he killed had the same first and last name as a guy who runs a bar a few streets over, but the bartender didn't die. My guess is that he has a way to distinguish people with the same name, or he has to intend someone specific to die. As for how many, most of us say two or three, but I can't be sure."

"So like he needs a face to go along with the name. Very clever." Connor ran a hand through his hair. "I'm guessing you have no idea who would have one?"

"I don't know if he'd need a face, exactly, but it seems he can pick his targets regardless of shared names. As for who has one, there've been rumors that the cops, or more specifically, the investigators got their hands on one. Another rumor says the mafia are pissed because they had one, but lost it. Check with either of those factions, and they should be able to help you out. If you can't get an audience with anyone, try some ganged up guys outside of the mafia."

Dominic took his fingerless gloves off, and watched the guy.

He nodded, "Thanks. Hmm.. I have one more thing to ask." He said, taking out $2000 and setting it down on the bed.

"You know a vampire of the name Krystal?"

"I don't know her, but I know someone who does. I can arrange a meeting for another grand, and I'll tell you something else that might be of interest to you, too."

He raised an eyebrow, "Another grand, to arrange a meeting? Hmm..." he narrowed his eyes at Dominic. "I'll give you another grand for you to arrange the meeting, tell me that something which you think, I might think, will be interesting and continue to find me information on this Notebook and who has them. Deal?"

"You're a vampire, you can't die. You've gotta understand, if I do too much recon, I'm going to end up seriously dead. A grand for the first two, and you pay me if I can find you something interesting, each time."

Connor eyed him for a good minute. "Fine. You go yourself a deal human. You're lucky you're useful to me at this moment." He grinned and extended out his hand.

Dominic shrugged. "I'm a rentboy. Risk is part of the fun." Dominic shook his hand.

"Right, first off, the piece of interesting. A week ago, I was coming back from a job north of the CBD, so I took a train. Anyway, the only station in the District is... well, let's just say they don't restock the vending machines because the delivery man got knifed and the stock taken, last time. So, I'm at this station, and one of the local roughs is there bothering one of the rentgirls. This guy had a rep, right, for rape and violence, and not giving up til he got what he wanted. This is all usual for the district, but get this. A train's coming, and this guy stops, stands stock still, then calmly walks and throws himself under the wheels of a train. That's fucking weird - no guy in his element offs himself for no reason. I know Kira kills with a heart attack, but it occured to me that this bastard had a rep, and the train was right there... you see what I'm getting at?"

"This kira person can like kill anyway he wants to, not just a heart attack? And he kills bad people?"

"Just a theory, bossman. The two people he killed in the last two days? Both were known to hurt people around here. And that thing with the train was weird as; might've been drugs, but I've never seen anything like it."

"Disgusting, this guy should be put to shame." Connor snarled.

"Kira, or the guy who died?"
