"Well you could start by talking to me and not yourself at the same exact time, I know that sounds odd." he replied politely. "When you figure it out I will be right here."

"Well your here now and I would like you to address me, I don't mind you having your thoughts kept secret from me that's your right but I would like to at least know your listening to me." M's gaze was without fail, his dark brown eyes so dark thye could easily be confused for ebony.

"I'm always listening. If I listen to more things than one, does that suddenly mean that I am not listening to the one thing? If I reply answering two questions at once, does it mean that the answer to each is not as valid?" she said calmly. "Tell me. Do those things seem correct to you?"

"We wouldn't be having this conversation if I thought it was correct." he replied rationally. "No matter you will do as you please regardless of my opinion." ((You forgot to answer the cafe.))

"Of course I will," she replied, not meaning to be rude, but simply stating the truth. (I haven't, I haven't had chance recently. I'm very busy at the minute)

M found a seat near a table and plopped down not willing really to surrender to her antics. "Well you may start your experiements, I would like to see how you work."

Immediately she got to work. One minute she was connecting wires to the main electrical system, the next she was on the phone, telling whoever was on the other end to wait there. Many things that she used came out of her bag, seemingly more things than would actually fit. While she was working she paid little or no attention to the people around her, passing by them as if they were ghosts. A blue light reached up from her work, slowly melting back into it. She began adjusting things, making it 'perfect' although in her own words she would have said it was far from so.

M stayed out of rhythm's way and just kept staring but not absent mindely like most would have. He wanted to learn, it was something that he craved but didn't feel that he could ever truly excel at in any setting. The way she worked, made sure to write, take notes so detailed anyone could follow them and call to receive information fascinated him to no end. For a minute he felt this is what ghost must have felt like, just there but other unaware of they're existence.

She wrote some notes in a small, neat writing on her notebook and then went back to work. As she attached the last cable connecting the newly made machine to a small device that had somehow come out of her bag, it sputtered to life, and then began working properly. She smiled slightly. "Now I've pretty much made it, would you like to help me test for flaws? It would help to have two people. One person misses a lot more things than two."

M looked around obviously dumbfounded at the fact that rhythm had come out of her posession and utter obsession with work to notice him at all. Idly he pointed at himself to make sure he wasn't hullcinating and make sure he wasn't being a bother. "Do you mean me?" he asked curiously. "I mean I would enjoy that, it would be a privilege. But I don't know what that contraption is."

"Yes, I mean you," Rhythm said. "And you know, not knowing will help all the more. By knowing what it does, people presume that it will do that, making it harder to figure if things are wrong. That is another reason why us working together to test it will be better than me on my own. After we have tested it thoroughly, then we will both know exactly what it does. Even I don't know the limitations yet." She turned properly to face him, instead of facing him at an angle as she usually did. "So, would you like to?"

M got up from his seat and cautiously step by step approached the device and rhythm. Lowering his body he put his hands on the counter and kneeling down to be eye level with rhythm's machine. "So what do I do?" he asked with his eyes looking up in a pleading puppy dog fashion. "Does it know I'm watching it?" he asked about the machine being aware of it's present. "I mean I haven't the what in the world will happen at all. Are your sure it's safe to do this?"

"Perfectly safe, trust me. As difficult as it is to do that," Rhythm said. "I made sure it was completely safe, after I found a friend of mine had done an experiment. I helped her test it, and between us, mainly me, as I hadn't a clue what was going on, we managed to almost blow up a high rise building. So with all my machines I make ultra sure not to make the mistake my friend did. And it can sense you, but only if you're moving. At the moment, unless I decide to add a heat sensor, if you are still, it will neither know you are there nor pay any attention. It can't do anything dangerous anyway, so you're safe. Even if it malfunctions all that will happen is that a fuse will blow."

"Fuse?" he asked more suspicious and even less trusting of rhythm then he had previously been before this machine had become known to him. "You said fuse, fuse implies boom." he told her as if he really was nothing more then a two year old child and exhibited this in the way he moved from left to right wondering if the machine was watching.
