A mouse jumped on to a fallen stone pillar, sniffing the air. Shortly thereafter, a mop of indigo hair appeared, followed by two yellow eyes, and a childish grin.

They'd made it in undetected, and there would surely be *something* shiny in an old fashioned place like this.

Lana walked around the Temple. A mouse scampered past her foot and she jumped.

"Damnit Flick! Can't you stay still for one cotton pickin' - Oh."

The boy stopped, and the mouse, Flick, climbed up his side to his shoulder.

"Hello" He said, quiet and shy.

"Um...hi," Lana said. Who is this person? She wondered, And why does he have a mouse?

Eyes on the floor, and a bare toe tracing across the ground, he said "Umm... sorry if this is your place..."

"My place?" Lana asked, "I only came here to go for a walk."

Spike grinned. "Good. Guess I don't need 't be appologisin' then."

Looking around, Spike scanned for something shiny, his hair changing to the grey color of the stones around him as he did so.

Lana watched curiously.

Feet padding quietly as he crossed the floor, Spike examined a wooden chest on the floor. While most explorers might open it, he was completely fixated by the emerald set into the outside.

"Whoa...jaaaaaaackpot."

"Umm...ok..." Lana said, confused.

Grinning sheepishly, Spike threw a glance at her.

"Sorry. It's just... I mean, look at it." Holding the entire thing up so the gem caught the light, a plethora of lights danced across the faceted surface.

"It's beutiful" Lana agreed.

"Mmmhmm."

Hair and eyes turning green, mimicking the shade of the stone, Spike simply sat there, tracing it with his fingers, as Flick scampered around elsewhere in the temple, no doubt continuing the search.

Lana watched in pure amazment.

It had not even occurred to Spike that it might be an idea to open the chest; such was the intensity of his fixation on the gemstone. Tracing it still, gently as if he was worried it would disappear, he said,

"So, is this a place people just come when they're thinkin', or is that just you?"
